Mr. Strauss has been involved with legal ethics and the attorney disciplinary system for over 25 years. Mr. Strauss is a former Senior Litigator for the Sate Bar of California. He brings a prosecutorial perspective to the table when the firm engineers its defense of clients charged with professional misconduct by the State Bar.

Mr Strauss was admitted to the practice of law in Colorado (1984) and then in California (1987). He is also admitted to practice before the Federal District Courts of the Northern District of California, the Federal District Courts of the Central District of California, and before all District Courts of the 10th Circuit.

While still in law school, Mr. Strauss began clerking for the Hon. Charles E. Bennett of the Denver Superior Court. Following his judicial clerkship, Mr. Strauss began working as an investigator for the Colorado Supreme Court’s Office of the Disciplinary Prosecutor. In this position Mr. Strauss was trained in trust account misappropriations, insurance and medical fraud by personal injury attorneys, criminal convictions warranting discipline, client abandonment stemming from substance abuse by the attorney, and the unauthorized practice of law.

Upon being admitted in Colorado, Mr. Strauss worked as Deputy District Attorney and later as a criminal defense lawyer. In addition to both prosecuting and defending scores of jury trials involving both felonies and misdemeanors, Mr Strauss also gained experience in Indian tribal law and a knowledge of forensic techniques and methods for firearms.

Upon his admission in California, from 1987 - 1990. Mr. Strauss was a Senior Litigator in the Office of the Chief Trial Counsel of at the State Bar of California. He prosecuted attorneys before both the Hearing and Review Departments of the State Bar Court and served of counsel to the State Bar in disciplinary appeals before the California Supreme Court. Mr. Strauss supervised a unit of investigators and reviewed their work product to meet evidentiary requirements for prosecution. Mr. Strauss prosecuted such notable attorneys as Marvin Mitchelson before leaving for private practice.

Mr. Strauss has continued to devote his practice solely to matter involving attorney misconduct and professional discipline. He is a member of the Association of Discipline Defense Counsel, and a former member of the Los Angles Count Bar Association’s Error’s and Omissions Committee. Mr. Strauss regularly authors articles on State Bar matters for the Los Angeles Daily Journal legal newspaper.
